GW2 Gold: Guide Pt. 5

GW2 Gold: Guide Pt. 5

Last time, I shared to you guys the fourth part of the guide for newcomers in Guild Wars 2. Here we continue the newcomer guide written by a player in Reddit. If you are interested in the recommendations on how to level, get GW2 gold, etc., read on.  The fourth part can be found here.

GW2 Gold: Continuation

If you chose to participate in PVP, learn to fight against other people by mastering your class and skills, capture points and hold them to gain your team points, and learn to play Stronghold which pushes teams to kill opposing teams’ lords by breaking into their keep with the aid of door breakers and archers. World vs World, or WvW, is a similar PVP experience but on a much larger scale. For lower level characters, Edge of the Mist may be easier to understand and participate in as it’s on a smaller scale than the normal WvW format which has multi-large maps and a lot more people. Edge of the Mists allows you to run with a commander and an army of people to fight against others and capture objectives. It’s similar to PVP where you hold objectives to give your team points and Tomes of Knowledge can be earned to grant a PVE level. It’s also worthy to note that PVP and WvW each have reward tracks that can grant other great rewards as well!

Once level 40, you should probably start to do dungeons (the first dungeon is however unlocked at level 30, and you can do a new dungeon about every 10 levels). Dungeons grant you lots of experience very quickly in bursts. There are several dungeons, each having an icon on your map with a door symbol. Be aware some of these are higher level dungeons, and you won’t even be able to go in them if you’re not the proper level. Dungeons have a story mode, and multiple paths, each run being a little different. It’s a great idea to use the LFG system to group up with others for dungeons. Aside from dungeons you can continue to craft on a second profession, if you’d like, continue to PVP and gain Tomes of Knowledge, participate in WvW and EotM for Tomes of Knowledge, or continue to explore the world of Tyria and complete hearts and do your personal story until level 80.

By this level, you would be okay since you have saved enough gold. Therefore, you don’t need to buy GW2 Gold. Focus on PvP and / or dungeons.

Last time, I shared to you guys the third part of the guide for newcomers in Guild Wars 2. Here we continue the newcomer guide written by a player in Reddit. If you are interested in the recommendations on how to level, get Guild Wars 2 gold, etc., read on.  The third part can be found here.

On the trading post, you’ll also notice that you can buy and sell other goods. Merchants are great for selling your junk, and some karma merchants and heart vendors are great for buying trinkets such as rings and amulets. But the trading post is where every tradable item in the game can be bought and sold. If you feel the need to, you can buy a full set of gear for your character on the trading post around level 50-60. You’ll want to look for yellow gear, as this is rare gear that has much better stats than white, blue, and green gear, the lowest, second lowest, and third lowest quality respectively. A lot of your gear from the personal story, karma vendors, and general loot however should suffice, especially considering that buying a full set of gear can be expensive. In fact many players don’t touch the trading post to buy gear until level 80, as you’ll need the exotic gear then, the highest gear, right after ascended quality gear. At this point, you may also want to look at world bosses as you can do a considerable amount of them already. Many of them spawn in lower level areas like Fire Elemental, Jungle Wurm, Shadow Behemoth, and the Svanir Shaman; these also grant experience and loot. The higher level you are, the more of these you’ll be able to do.

Buy GW2 Gold or not, you will be having lots of in-game currency at this point on and things will get easier but still, challenges await further in the game so stay tuned for more tips!

Pre-level 40 or so it can seem like a grind, but if you take your time exploring the world, and enjoying the game you’ll have fun; and if you have a friend to do it with you it can be more enjoyable. If you want to switch starting areas, take the Lion’s Arch portal in your home city, and go to the other races’ starting areas, this is a great way to do map completion or change your environment a bit. Map completion and experience gain also works for the cities, so find all the waypoints, vistas, and points of interests there too. Everything in the game gives you experience, so always gather every resource node you cross, revive every player you see dead near you, and complete every event you cross.

With some map completion and your personal story, it shouldn’t be long till your level 20-25. From here you can continue to do map completion in some of the higher level zones or continue your personal story. Apart from that however, it’d be a good idea to start looking at crafting, PVP, and Edge of the Mists as well. All those materials you’ve deposited from gathering and salvaging can now be used to craft and can also gain you experience to level up. If you have the necessary materials you can gain levels actually quite fast, faster than map completion and personal story even. If you don’t have the materials, use the trading post to buy them.

This is the time you will be starting to earn some gold but if you still need to buy Guild Wars 2 Gold, you are freely to do so to easily craft and level up faster.

Guild Wars 2 Gold: Guide Pt. 2

Hello newcomers to Guild Wars 2! Here we continue the newcomer guide written by a player in Reddit. If you are interest in the recommendations on how to level, get guild wars 2 gold, etc., read on.  The first part can be found here.

Guild Wars 2 Gold: Continuation

Whenever you have the chance to do so, look for the green star on your map and top right corner of the screen to continue to advance the personal story. Your first run through the personal story can be interesting and fun, and gives you experience and levels really fast. At a certain point you’ll be gated from the remaining story until your high enough level again. If you’re ever lost and don’t know what to do, look in your Hero panel, find the Story Journal and see if you can continue your personal story and go to the green star on the map. This is the fastest way to level up. In between story quests you’re best off just roaming the map and finding points of interests, waypoints, vistas, hero points, and completing hearts. Look for orange circles as well on the map, these are dynamic events, and grant good amounts of experience as well.

At level 11, you’ll be able to use hero points to unlock new traits and skills. Don’t worry too much about what skills and traits are the best for your class; from now until level 80 is the time where you want to experiment with different skills, different weapons, and different armor stats to find your playstyle.

If you go into the PVP lobby by clicking the double sword icon, you can go to a merchant in the Heart of the Mists and buy all the weapons that are available to your class and try them out on the golems or class NPCs. Again, you’ll be boosted to level 80 and have all the skills and traits unlocked, but don’t worry too much about that just yet. If you do want to take an in-depth look at all the things available to you, perhaps you can even try your luck at playing PVP if you found a great combination of skills, traits, and gear setup. PVP will grant you Tomes of Knowledge that will grant you one level. If you’re not ready for PVP yet and just came here to try out the weapons then you can head back out.

You still aren’t forced to buy Guild Wars 2 Gold at this stage since you won’t be needing much gold. Still, you are free to do so if you are capable of doing so. We will continue on the next write-up.

GW2 Gold: Why?

GW2 Gold: Why?

Ever reached a point in playing an MMORPG that it made you think “why am I still playing this game?” Let’s say in Guild Wars 2. Do you still farm for GW2 Gold which you won’t spend anyways? Farming for stuff aimlessly and later realize that you are just wasting time?

GW2 Gold. Relating

Someone from Reddit actually predicted this and asked the Guild Wars 2 subreddit about it:

I haven’t played in a very very long time. I want to come back to this game because I loved it at first, but there seemed to be no progression system to keep me hooked. I’ve always wondered what people do at endgame if there’s no gear upgrades, so what do you guys do? Genuinely curious because I want to try the game out again, but I feel like I’ll just reach endgame again and get bored.

There have been a swarm of replies considering I saw the post only two hours after being posted. There this one that actually I think answered it the best:

Pick goals and go for them. In my case it’s usually skins or legendaries not stats. If you think numbers going up are actually progression, they’re really not…in most games anyway. Because everything goes up with you and you end up with the illusion of progression. You’ve bought into that.

In this game progression is skill progression. You get better at playing what you have. You learn better technique. Can you solo dungeons. Can you solo them faster? That’s real progression not just numbers.

But if you make legendaries, and complete collections and follow the stories to completion, get some achievements done, there’s plenty to do here.

And it’s all progression. Filling in wardrobe slots makes as much sense as raising stats.

Edit: Oh yeah my guild is also a big part of why I keep playing. I’m always having fun.

So don’t be farming gold in GW2 and just realize you’re getting bored. Heck, you can buy GW2 gold and don’t farm them so as long as you’re enjoying the game. That’s what is the most important thing.

Guild Wars 2 Gold: Final Part

Guild Wars 2 Gold: Final Part

We have come to the last part of one of the developer’s post with regards to his experience with ArenaNet and his relationship with the company. It has been truly a blessing to have read this coming from someone inside the company of the game we love to play. This type of material cannot be equated to any amount of Guild Wars 2 gold!

Guild Wars 2 Gold

Guild Wars 2 Gold: Enjoy!

This last part makes me want to buy Guild wars 2 gold and give away to everyone in my server! Here is the last part:

I’ve spent over a decade at my home at ArenaNet; first the building sinking into the swamp, and now the shiny new building on the hill. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the time I’ve spent, or more humbled by the trust put in me. My departure to take on a new challenge elsewhere shouldn’t be a sad day, it’s a day to celebrate new opportunities. I’ve been blessed with the chance to do so much at ArenaNet – and now new people who probably have better heads on their shoulders than I do will get new opportunities. It’s an opportunity for developers to move into new roles they’ve never been in before, for new designers like I was once to get to take chances, and for ArenaNet to support them taking chances the same way it has supported me.

I have loved my time at ArenaNet. I loved my time working with the amazing teams and developers over the many years that really deserve far more credit than they ever receive for the work they do. I love this amazing Guild Wars community. I’ve met so many of you over the years at conventions, talked with you in game, discussed ideas through forums, and read the letters you’ve sent to our office – your passion is simply unmatched. To the ArenaNet team and to the entire community who without which there would be no game at all, it has been an absolute pleasure building games alongside you.

Thank you to everyone for the amazing memories, all of you and the Guild Wars franchise will hold a place in my heart forever.

Thank you also for sharing us your experience with ArenaNet. Hopefully this is true to all of the employees in the company as well. You did a great job in working on what we are enjoying right now. Thank you!

GW2 Gold: Letter Continuation

GW2 Gold: Letter Continuation

The past weeks have been hell and I have not posted here for a long time now. Please forgive me for not posting for a while here. Let us not waste any more time and continue on with the developer’s letter that at least gave us some information on how a developer’s life is in ArenaNet. GW2 Gold information for you guys as usual!

GW2 Gold: Third Part

If you missed the previous parts, just kindly go into the list of posts so you can connect it with this one. Enjoy!

In Guild Wars 2, ArenaNet gave me the incredible opportunity to lead the team that designed and prototyped the dynamic event system – it all started with a prototype sector we called Shaemoor. Shortly after that they took a chance on me again and let me lead the team that designed and built all of the game content that launched with Guild Wars 2. That team and those years together is another of my all time favorite memories. To those of you out there from that team who read this – I am so proud of you and the amazing things you accomplished – I am truly honored to have been able to have been your lead.

Around launch in the ultimate step of taking a chance on someone, they asked me to step away from my role as a game designer and hand my design team off to a new leadership team to become the PR and media facing voice of the game as the game director for Guild Wars 2. A position where I’ve got to take the credit for everyone else’s hard work ever since 😉

gw2 gold

It must have been a great experience to handle the team who developed the content for Guild Wars 2. And LOL on the last sentence for this part. I am pretty sure that was a joke and hopefully you guys did as well.

Enjoyed this part? Look forward for the last part next time! I would buy GW2 Gold for that stuff!

GW2 Gold: Programmer’s Letter

GW2 Gold: Programmer’s Letter

The world of MMORPG is notorious for having little to no response from the game company itself whether it be you want to contact support for a bug or from the developers on something you, us, players suggest on how to make the make the game better (more GW2 Gold please lol). We get angry, frustrated, disappointed, and any other word that describes your utter disgust on how you need to beg to them before the game company responds to you.

GW2 Gold: Something New

Well, not this time. I have come across a thread in Reddit that has a developer sharing his story on how he joined ArenaNet and his life during that time. It is rare to read something coming directly from their developers and how life was while working on a game you love that developer was a part of. This is quite refreshing and it is something new. Written by the developer ArenaColin himself:

I didn’t plan to write something like this but due to an overwhelming response from friends around the industry and folks from this great community it has become clear to me proper closure requires a real goodbye. Today is my last day at ArenaNet, so here goes nothing…

Eleven years ago ArenaNet took a chance on me. The company’s very first ever game: Guild Wars (Prophecies) needed a game designer to build the bulk of the quests with just a few months left till ship. The offer came on a Friday and required I fly to Seattle from Virginia and be there by Monday morning to start working. On a recommendation from my friend Lewis who was a coder at ArenaNet – I quit my job and jumped on that plane. I flew with what clothes I could bring in a few suitcases and a sleeping bag. I rented an apartment I didn’t have time to furnish and with my sleeping bag as a bed, I set to work banging out the quests. One of the first quests I got to work on involved a little girl named Gwen who needed you to recover her lost flute, I would never have guessed the legacy she would have.

That is only the first part of his story. You want more of his story? I know I do. I would even Buy GW2 Gold just to read the rest of this. Wait for the continuation on my next article!

Guild Wars 2 Gold: Bad Names and Behaviors

Guild Wars 2 Gold: Bad Names and Behaviors

Assuming we are all adults or at least have experience playing MMORPG, we all have an idea on what not to do in the game. For Guild Wars 2, there are also set of rules that have to be followed. We are quite ignorant to these because it’s either we didn’t read it or just passed by it and ignored it. So if ever there is something that we did against the policies of Guild Wars 2, ignorance wouldn’t be an excuse.

Guild Wars 2 Gold: Reminder from ArenaNet

This might be an old post coming from ArenaNet but it is still in good practice that we get reminded by it especially in creating character names and behaving inside the game. Here is the original reminder posted by ArenaNetSupportTeam from Reddit:

We want to clear up some of the confusion about GW2 name and behavior suspensions. To keep Guild Wars 2 a pleasant place to be, we take action against racist names, hate speech, and other unacceptable behavior. We have suspended some accounts involved in the use of offensive character names or inappropriate chat. The number of account blocks is miniscule: less than .001% of our total player base.

When an account is blocked for a chat offense, the account is given a three-day suspension. When an account is blocked for an offensive name, the player is required to rename the character name and, in most cases, the account is also given a three-day suspension.

We have reviewed all the name suspensions currently in place. Where we could give some leeway, we removed the account suspension, which will allow those players to rename the character and rejoin the game. However, for substantially offensive names, we will keep the full three-day suspensions in effect.

In a few posts on Reddit and on fan forums, players have claimed they were suspended for using a harmless-sounding character name, when in fact they were suspended for a different and truly offensive character name on their account. Others claimed that they were not told why they were suspended, but the game does give a message that states the reason for the suspension. In every case we have double-checked, the action taken on the account was appropriate.

However, we’d like to clear up any misconceptions. If you think you were unfairly suspended, or if you’d like to know the specific chat or character name that got you suspended, post your character name and we’ll reply in graphic detail with the reason for the block. Warning: NSFW ahead!

You can read our name policy here. You can get a lot of good info about GW2 support policies in this doc.

It is a good way to remind ourselves that even though living a life in the digital world, we still have to concern ourselves with the rules and regulations since there are other people as well playing the game. They might find it offensive or worse, they might feel that Guild Wars 2 is not a fun and safe environment anymore due to lack of application of the rules.

GW2 Gold: Afraid of Being a Noob Online

GW2 Gold: Afraid of Being a Noob Online

Noob. Have you encountered this word? Who am I kidding? Of course, you did. It is either you have been called one or you called someone else one. This is the basic word used to call out someone being skill-less. Or when things get rough, 99.9% of the chance someone will blurt out this word directed at someone. Yeah, it is either you cannot finish the quest or you cannot beat an opponent. Heck, this is the most overused word to trashtalk anyone from the opposing team as well. So yeah, I didn’t know what I was thinking when I asked if you encountered the word. LOL.

GW2 Gold: The Effect of Being One

Well, sad to say, calling someone a noob might have a great impact on them. Yes you have to call out someone when they made a mistake or not performing well in a team’s standard. The derogative effect of the word noob worsens by the day. The effect of being called as a noob is quite underrated. The word might be the cheapest and most overused word in a heated exchange but the effects are real.

Buy GW2 Gold: Personal Experience

I have a friend that sucks in any game that we play. Actually anything in his life, one way or another, he finds himself sucking at it. Anyways, back to gaming, he doesn’t do what his character / class / specialization is supposed to do. Heck, he is using the most powerful DPS in that MMORPG that I will not mention what and still he is the lowest player in our group parser. So, for the benefit of our team and of course for his development, we tried confronting him in a nice manner. First second of this very nice talk about his performance, he suddenly burst in anger as if we were ganging up on him and we were insisting he was a noob. We didn’t even tell him once that he was and our approach was nice. Apparently, his other group of gaming friends were calling him a noob thus he was very hostile as we were about to approach him in his performance. We thought those moments he was called a noob marked on his head and every time he sucks on a game, he takes offense. So then we realized there that getting called a noob sometimes has a big effect on someone.

Do you have a same experience in relation to the word noob? Don’t hesitate to share even it is your personal experience.
